- Text in Turkish - Alongside the housing culture brought to the region by Turkish tradition, local colours and the diversity resulting from communal living are gradually transforming into an interesting and functional structure. On the other hand, the Ottoman housing heritage is not being adequately preserved due to the turbulent period the region has gone through. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to see a significant portion of the houses featured in the book with photographs and drawings. This research has a history spanning over a decade. A year of preparation in the libraries of Vienna, which in 1985 served as a center for Balkan studies, was complemented by detailed trips in 1989 and 1990. These trips took place just before the political changes and subsequent upheavals that began in the countries under study. The findings and documentation made in this context are, perhaps, a glimpse into history, immediately preceding the destruction and annihilation. - Good copy
