In 1989 the First European Conference on Residential Care "Innovations in Residential Care" was held in De Haan (Belgium). Referents from all over Europe contributed to this conference. This book contains the major lectures of this conference.
The book attempts to give a general view of new residential care approaches for children and young adults with (severe) psycho-social problems. It focusses on new scientific research projects as well as on practical applications, concerning not only objectives and methods, but also results and implications.
The aim of the book is to inform scientists and practitioners from all over Europe on new developments in residential care for young people.
