Beide banden met witte schaafvlekjes langs rug en randen. Titelblad met enkele handgeschreven namen. Schut- en titelbladen met vage roestvlekjes. Beide delen strak gebonden en scherp afgesneden, bladzijden opmerkelijk gaaf, schoon en nauwelijks vergeeld. In elk deel is een leeslintje meegebonden. Het vouwblad (53 × 43 cm) is verticaal 2× en horizontaal 4× gevouwen; lichte vergeling op de vouwen, zonder tekstverlies.

Gebonden in twee delen: deel I bevat xvi + 248 blz.; deel II loopt van blz. 249 t/m 568, beginnend bij hoofdstuk XXVII (Of Relations). Links van het titelblad bevindt zich een gravureportret van John Locke, vervaardigd door Char. Heath. Los bijgevoegd is het gevouwen schema: “An analysis of Mr. Locke’s doctrine of ideas in his essay on human understanding.”
