Original green cloth, lettered and decorated in gilt. Royal 8vo. Complete with 81 beautiful full-pageengraved plates, printed in colour and finished by hand. First Issue set with spines dated 1890 at foot. Bindings in original condition (with gilt-stamped macaw on front) but somewhat damaged at the spine and corners. Sewing of the bookblock weak and therefore some quires loose(ning). Hinges/joints weak. However most of the plates in excellent condition and only the plates of volume III have (the usual) light foxing. Plate of the Elegant Parrakeet in Volume I is loose and misses a corner, plate of the Alexandrine Parrakeet in volume I with tear. Be happy to supply pictures. In the shipping cost full insurance is included!
