In 1987, the mammoth work Danish Furniture Art spanning 40 years was published in four volumes. The work, which is considered a bible for anyone interested in the golden age of Danish furniture design, is a 4-volume work of a total of 1372 pages with 1780 b/w photos and illustrations. The work shows all the furniture that was presented at Copenhagen's Snedkerlaug's annual exhibitions 1927–1966. It is the most important reference work for anyone who is seriously concerned with Danish furniture from this period. Copenhagen's Snedkerlaug's annual exhibitions were the place where new thoughts and ideas were presented and then spread and left their mark both in Denmark and abroad. The exhibitions contributed significantly to the great international success of Danish furniture design. Grete Jalk's book is a source document of inestimable importance, and over the years it has gained cult status and has been extremely difficult and expensive to retrieve. The new edition of Dansk Møbelkunst through 40 years has been beautifully equipped with a cover and cassette designed by Harvey Macaulay, Professor Per Mollerup has written a new foreword, while the content is an unchanged reprint of the original edition. All text is in both Danish and English. With this reissue, it is once again possible for everyone to own this unique reference work.
