Map Kuyper Gemeente atlas van GELDERLAND This is an original map taken from an incomplete copy of the Gemeente Atlas van GELDERLAND by Jacob Kuyper ( 1821 – 1908). Issued in 1867 by Surringa Leeuwarden. All maps were printed in black. The outline border of the Municipality were coloured by hand. De Gemeente Atlas van Nederland verscheen ca. 1868 en werd uitgegeven door Hugo Suringar te Leeuwarden. Voor iedere provincie een deel. Het bevat de kaarten van alle Nederlandse gemeenten. De kaarten werden in zwart/wit gedrukt waarbij de gemeentegrenzen met de hand waren ingekleurd. De tekenaar van de kaarten, Jacob Kuyper (1821-1908) was een belangrijke pionier op het gebied van de thematische cartografie en medeoprichter van het Koninklijk Nederlands Aardrijkskundig Genootschap (KNAG). Hij stelde in de periode 1857-1880 verschillende atlassen samen. De bekendste atlas was de Gemeente-Atlas van Nederland. De kaarten voor deze atlas tekende Kuyper in de jaren 1865-1870
