The album shows a world that no longer exists, destroyed by war. A world full of contrasts, but also very beautiful and important in history. In the album, we look at Poland through the eyes of Henryk Poddębski. This story about the Second Polish Republic begins with a symbolic place, with the Triangle of the Three Emperors in Silesia, reminding us of the recent times of captivity and the division of the country into partitions.
The album consists of 354 photos, which have been divided into eight thematic parts. They show Poddębski's areas of interest. They also allow you to organize the huge photographic material and take a journey into the past to get to know the lands, people, cities, villages, achievements of the reborn state, monuments commemorating heroes and events thanks to which Poland regained independence.
Professor Norman Davies wrote in the preface to the album that "Poddębski's photographs have an almost unique value. They are a testimony to a lost world full of hope and progress (...) thanks to him and others like him, the collective memory has not completely died."
